Singapore Night Festival: Behind Moondreaming
“The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets.”
"Behind Moondreaming" is a behind-the-scenes sharing by Spatial Investigation Department, School of Design, NYP, about the installation titled 'Moondreaming' on Friday, 25 Aug, 7 - 7.30pm*
This installation invites visitors to be part of an immersive spatial experience that hopes to evoke a sense of collective dreaming. Through a specially designed orbiting apparatus, light and shadow will converge and bring life to the stories hidden in the shadows of the cityscape. The narratives in this imaginary cityscape is illuminated only by ‘moonlight’. You are invited to build and shape the spatial and experiential design of this dreamed up world.
Come dream with us in this transient cityscape that transforms throughout the night, where only the moon remains unflinching and undeterred.
Date: 25 August 2017 (Friday) and 26 August 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 7pm - 11pm
*Registration on Peatix is required only for the sharing session. Registration opens at 6.30pm. Due to limited capacity, if there are no-shows, tickets will be released at 7pm.
The Spatial Investigation Department is a collective consisting of staff, graduates and students winged under the Diploma of Spatial Design and Diploma of Sustainable Architectural Design Course. We seek to engage the society by negotiating the boundary with other disciplines in the periphery of architecture.
In the Diploma of Spatial Design and Sustainable Architectural Design, we aim to develop students who are independent and curious in seeking knowledge towards creativity where confidence is instilled not only in articulating their percept and concept but also in the skill of making. Students will acquire all rounded design expertise in place-making, designing experiences and strategies for different spatial applications.
